HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Following a vehicle chase on South Virginia Street, Hopkinsville Police Department arrested a man with 3 active warrants.
Officers attempted a traffic stop on Sunday for the suspects multiple warrants when he began to flee in his vehicle through a parking lot to get to South Virginia Street, said a police report. While fleeing through the parking lot, a citizen was nearly hit by the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect then fled down a crowded residential street filled with numerous vehicles and people outside, according to HPD. He eventually halted at the intersection of North Elm Street and Glass Avenue, where he was boxed in and stopped.
Upon search of the vehicle, police found an open bottle of alcohol. He was arrested and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, operating on a suspended license, possession of open alcohol beverage, failure to use improper signal, improper turning, and first-degree wanton endangerment.
