HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Two men were arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash on Airport Road in Hopkinsville early Sunday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old man for speeding on Fort Campbell Blvd. around 2 a.m. The vehicle cut through a McDonald’s parking lot and proceeded northbound when officers initiated lights and sirens, according to a police report. The vehicle was weaving on the roadway driving through multiple stop signs and intersections at a high rate of speed.

The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle lost control and crashed across Russellville Road and across Airport Road, taking out a street sign. Police say one 20-year-old passenger jumped out of the car and began to flee on foot before being apprehended.

The driver and passenger were both charged with fleeing from police. The driver was also charged with speeding, reckless driving, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree criminal mischief, disregarding stop signs, and failure to use proper traffic signals.
