HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Players at Christian County High School will not be participating in upcoming playoffs, as the team prepares to wrap up their final season as the Colonels.
A statement from Christian County Public Schools says, “After careful consideration, Christian County High School has made the decision to withdraw from the 2025 KHSAA 6A football playoffs. The school extends its sincere appreciation to the student-athletes, coaches, staff, and parents for their commitment and support throughout the season.”
Their most recent game was held on Oct. 31 where they faced a 7-54 loss against the Paducah-Tilghman Blue Tornados. Prior to that, they had another loss against the Hopkinsville High School rivalry matchup of 13-48.
The team is being led by Coach Kelly Myers, who was appointed as interim for the remainder of the season after they accepted the resignation of head football coach Ethan Atchley in September following a rough start to the season.
