HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Rev. Ollie Edward Hancock of Hopkinsville passed away on Sept. 20 at the age of 73 in Christian County.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1951, in Cadiz. Hancock was a member of Allen Grove Baptist Church, where he was an associate minister and was employed by Christian County Board of Education as a bus driver.
“Mr. Hancock faithfully served our district for nearly nine years. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and coworkers during this difficult time.” said a statement from CCPS.
Before his passing, Hancock enjoyed fishing, watching game shows, and watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, according to his obituary. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by multiple siblings. Survivors include his wife, Della Hancock; his children, Trenita Anderson (Leman), DeNessa Dickey, Eglacia Hancock, Aglacia Dickey, Juanita Bingham, and Shauntae Fletcher (Rev. Demarcus)
His funeral service will be held at Gamble Funeral Home in Hopkinsville, with visitation held on Oct. 2 from 11 a.m.- 2p.m.
