HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – In a statement sent out to families and posted online, Heritage Christian Academy announced that school would be closed Jan. 30-31 due to excessive illness. Students are not required to complete NTI work during this time.

Christian County Public Schools is still seeing daily average attendance above 90% and has not seen reason to close any of the public schools in the district. “There are pockets in various schools and grades that have seen a slight dip in attendance, but overall, we are not experiencing anything extremely out of the ordinary, especially for this time of year,” said Johnna Brown with CCPS.

She went on to advise parent and guardians to monitor their child for signs of illness and keep them home if a fever is present to prevent spreading germs throughout schools and classrooms. Students should frequently wash their hands while at school to help them stay healthy.
