HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hopkinsville native Chantia Wilson died on her birthday, Nov. 27, at the age of 65. According to her obituary, Wilson was a dedicated and skilled cook, and her culinary passion led her to work at some of Hopkinsville’s beloved eateries.

During her life, she cooked at Dots, Holiday Burger, Roundie’s, and Shoney’s. Most recently, she spent over 30 years cooking at Horseshoe Steakhouse on Fort Campbell Boulevard. The restaurant announced her passing on Thanksgiving and has remained temporarily closed since.

“We are extra thankful for the three decades of dedication, hard work, and unforgettable hospitality that Chantia has brought to the Horseshoe,” said a statement from Horseshoe on social media. “We are at a loss for words for the unexpected news. Chantia was the glue that held us all together and will never be forgotten.”

Chantia is survived by her children, siblings, and 11 grandchildren. Visitation for Chantia will be Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. and with the family at 4:00 p.m. at Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville.
