CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A child riding a horse was hospitalized this morning after being struck by a vehicle in Christian County. The horse was pulling a small wagon, and the child was from a local Mennonite community.
Payton Rogers from Hopkinsville Fire and EMS confirmed that around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 21, a 9-year-old girl was riding a horse along Shaw-Ovil Road in Christian County when she was hit by a car. She was then flown to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.
At this time, she is alert and conscious with a suspected pelvic fracture. The condition of the driver of the car, and of the horse, is unclear at this time.
