HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) –The Christian County Animal Shelters is creating an angel tree for their pets at the shelter this holiday season.
The tree will be featured in the shelters front lobby with a tag on each animal so that their fee can be sponsored upon adoption. The tree will also have tags for supplies the shelter needs during the winter months.
The shelter will be requesting items like bags of dog, cat, puppy and kitten food. There will also be items listed like Dremel batteries, cat pill pockets, dog pill pockets, and cat litter. Dog houses, and straw bails will be collected for their Huts for Mutts program which gives families in need houses for their four legged friends to ensure they stay warm during the cold season.
This is the first time the shelter has done this, and every animal, both cats and dogs, who hasn’t already been sponsored on there will be on the tree. Donations for animals that need surgeries will be collected as well.
For more information call the shelter at 270-887-4175, located at 2935 Russellville Road.
