HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County and Hopkinsville High School marching bands both ended their final competition season apart with significant wins as they took on the state competition Oct. 25.
The Christian County Colonel Band’s “One Last Time” showcase earned them the 2025 KMEA Class 4A State Championship win. The semi-finals for the statewide competition was held at the Daviess County Highschool, with the band moving to the finals later that night at Western Kentucky University where they got the win.

The Hopkinsville High School Band of Tigers also participated in the competition with their jazz inspired showcase, placing third in KMEA Class 4A at the same state finals at WKU.
“We are unbelievably proud of our students, staff, and families for their dedication, passion, and heart throughout this unforgettable season,” said a statement from the Colonel Band. The wins for both bands came the day after both schools took the field for the final rivalry matchup before the schools consolidate in the next school year.
