HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The Pennyroyal Arts Council (PACI) is proud to announce the opening of applications for the 2026 Barbara Gardner Scholarship, an annual award honoring the legacy of educator Barbara Gardner and supporting Kentucky students and teachers who are advancing access to the arts in their communities.

The scholarship recognizes one Christian County educator and one high school student who are actively engaged in creative projects that foster inclusion, encourage artistic expression, and make a lasting impact through the arts. Each recipient will receive a $500 unrestricted cash award to support their continued work.

PACI is committed to celebrating and uplifting individuals from all backgrounds. The organization encourages applicants of all identities and lived experiences, including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, appearance, religion, age, geographic location, education, and socioeconomic status.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Educators must be currently employed by an accredited institution and reside in Christian County.
  • Students must be rising juniors or seniors in high school during the 2026–2027 school year.
  • This includes those enrolled in public, private, or homeschool programs in Christian County.
