HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The groundbreaking for the new Christian County High School took place almost two months ago, and visible progress has already been made on the construction site with the foundation almost complete.

“Standing on site gives a new perspective to the size of the building and the work happening. The district plans to take bi-yearly trips to the site with school principals to review and tour the progress,” said Johnna Brown with the Christian County School System. She shared that district leaders and principals had a chance to see the progress in person earlier this week.

During the October board meeting, Tim Geegan with Alliance Construction reassured the school system that everything seems to be moving according to schedule, and they will continue to add on contractors as the project progresses.

One of the most unusual aspects of this new school will be its fully integrated Career and Technical Education alongside general education courses. “It will provide students with a comprehensive learning environment that inspires them to visualize their futures and learn career-based skills through hands-on experience,” Brown said.
