HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – High school band members from across Christian County have been selected to perform at the prestigious 2026 Kentucky Music Educators Association professional development conference, which brings together talented musicians from across the state.

The Christian County High School percussion ensemble and symphonic band along with the Hopkinsville High School jazz ensemble will attend the conference to perform in February 2026. This is only the second time in school history that CCHS has received this honor and is HHS’s first time being selected.

This opportunity has been presented to both schools as students enter their final year in separate high schools before combining at the new Christian County High School next year.

“We are so proud of the students and directors for their hard work and dedication that made this wonderful achievement possible,” said a statement from the HHS Band of Tigers.

CCHS Colonel Band added, “We are especially excited to receive this recognition during the final year of the Christian County High School Colonel Band program, making this performance a powerful part of our legacy and a moment our students will cherish forever.”

Both performances will be in Louisville on Feb. 5, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom.
