HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian Country residents can show off their art skills and test their creativity using bales of hay in the Christian County 4-H Club’s annual Bale Trail event.
“With our fifth year doing this we hope more and more families, organizations, and businesses enter each year,” said Mary Anne Garnet, with the Christian County 4-H Club. Since 2020, this friendly competition and county wide display has allowed businesses and individuals to create fun designs out of hay bales, with the registration deadline approaching on September 30.

Garnet noted there is a category for smaller displays that require only one square hay bale, in hopes more people will enter. Even scarecrows can be decorated for the competition. Once all participants have registered, the Christian County Extension Office will release a map of all the hay bale displays for public viewing.
The entry fee is $25 and all proceeds will benefit the Christian County 4-H Club. For each category, a first and second place winner will be awarded along with a social media favorite. Designs must be completed by October 4 and the winners will be announced October 7.
