HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County Public Schools has announced a partnership with Hopkinsville Community College to expand dual credit opportunities to students. Beginning in the fall of 2025, high school students will be able to take advantage of new dual credit pathways at Hopkinsville Community College centered around career and technical education, according to a news release from CCPS.
“We are proud to expand the dual credit program at HCC,” said Chris Bentzel, Superintendent. “We have a long history of partnership with HCC and are excited to provide additional options that support students’ post-secondary goals, as well as strengthen the workforce pipeline in our community.”
According to a press release from CCPS, the Pathfinder Great Start and Pathfinder Fast Track dual credit programs will be offered to students in the agriculture, business, and teaching & learning pathways. The Great Start track will provide opportunities for students to earn dual credit hours to complete an industry certification or work toward a program. The Pathfinder Fast Track expands on the Pathfinder Great Start, where students will take additional credit hours toward an associate degree in their respective fields. The Pathfinder Great Start and Fast Track programs expand on the work of HCC’s Early College and Rotary Impact Healthcare, which were recently launched.
Dr. Chris Boyett, Vice President for Academic Affairs, added, “Through Pathfinder Great Start and Fast Track, students will have a wider array of options that will lead them to fill needs here in our community and region. Through our partnership with CCPS, we are proud to announce these pathways and look forward to creating new avenues to success.”
