HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Janie and Milton Corley at Christian Way Farm have been preparing for a weekend full of fall activities including, hayrides, animal feeding, shopping for mums and pumpkins, a lawn mower train, miniature golf, corn maze and even a castle made out of hay.

“This is my husband’s 25th hay castle on our farm,” said Janie Corley. “There are six round bales that make up the castle with walkways, a tunnel that goes all the way around, little holes you can climb in and out of, ladders to the top of the castle, a catwalk, and slides off the back side of the castle. Kids absolutely love it; it is one of the fall favorites.”

Along with their unique hay castle, there are two corn mazes for guests to enjoy, a hard one and an easier one. “We don’t cut a design in it like some bigger farms, we mow it out with a concept in our mind,” said Corley. “Both mazes start on the front side of the corn field and end up near the pumpkin patch.”

She added that they are also preparing to make their signature café item, apple nachos. This delightful fall treat has sliced apples with a caramel drizzle, mini chocolate chips, and walnuts.

When Christian Way Farm first opened, they were just a pumpkin patch and a small corn maze. After many years of growth, Janie says preparing for their fall activities day is surreal. “Every step of this journey has been a leap of faith. Saturday is really going to feel like fall so we are expecting 300-400 people.”

Admission for the fall activities and farm is $11 for ages 2 and up. Participants can pay an additional price for pumpkins and mini golf. The farm will be open at 10 a.m. until dark, where participants can enjoy a lit up mini golf course or sit by a campfire. For more information contact Christian Way Farm at 270-269-2434.
