HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Dozens of people gathered at the Hopkinsville Visitors Center Monday afternoon to watch the partial solar eclipse. While those who attended anticipated complete cloud coverage, the eclipse broke through and was visible for the duration of the event.

The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, Visit Hopkinsville, and Hopkinsville Parks & Recreation hosted the watch party, and provided food trucks, games, and music to set the scene. The partial eclipse began before 1 p.m. and was at its greatest peak at 2:03 p.m.
