HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Coffee Connection in downtown Hopkinsville announced they will be closing their doors permanently on April 23.
Located at 910 South Main Street, the business is owned by Terri Henderson, who is a former detective with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office. The location serves as a privately owned community center and quickly became a sanctuary for community members who may need extra assistance or who are struggling with homelessness. Coffee Connection provides resources, a community closet, free coffee and fellowship with the help of volunteers and donations.
“Some of you have been walking through these doors for years. Some of you just discovered us recently. But every single one of you helped make this little place what it became,” said a statement on social media from Coffee Connection. “After 15 years of serving this community, Miss Terri has decided it’s time to finally enjoy retirement.”
Leading up to the closure, they will be operating on adjusted hours. The doors will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the building is cleared out. People that regularly made donations of clothing can now take those items to Impact Ministries on West Ninth Street.
