HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was flown to Nashville with severe injuries after his car was rear ended on Casky Lane Wednesday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 2 p.m. on Jan. 15 at the intersection of Bill Bryan Boulevard. The vehicle was stopped at Casky Lane waiting to turn left when it was struck from behind by a pickup truck.
A collision report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office says the severe impact caused the glass from the stopped vehicle to go into the truck bed of the other car. They came to a stop around 60 feet from where the car was first hit and were stuck together. A person who witnessed the accident said the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed before it crashed.
The driver from the stopped car, a 31-year-old man from Clarksville, Tennessee, was transported to Jennie Stuart Health. Due to his injuries, he was eventually flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville via helicopter.
