HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Master Gardeners are preparing for this year’s outdoor expo, which is a free event that brings the joy of nature and outdoor vendors to the community.
The Garden and Outdoor Living Expo will be held at the Christian County Extension Office on April 10-11. Both days will have local and regional exhibitors with a variety of outdoor offerings including free tool or mower blade sharpening along with kids’ activities, a scavenger hunt and food vendors. There will also be free tree seedlings available while supplies last.
Saturday will bring multiple free gardening seminars for the public covering a range of topics such as how to pick low-maintenance plants, how to start vegetables from seeds, starting a container garden and more. Each seminar will be hosted by local experts affiliated with the Christian County Master Gardeners.
Vendors of all types will fill the expo center with a variety of outdoor products and services available from woodworking, decorative plants, birdfeeders and produce. Students with Christian County 4-H will also be there along with FFA.
Doors will be open in the expo center behind the extension office at 2850 Pembroke Road from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Find a full list of vendors and the seminar schedule on the Garden and Outdoor Living Expo website.

More about Christian County Master Gardeners
Founded in 2005, the Christian County Master Gardeners have dedicated themselves to sharing knowledge and fostering a love for gardening within the community. From organizing workshops to spearheading community beautification projects, the association has inspired countless residents to cultivate their green thumbs and embrace sustainable gardening practices.
Throughout the year, the association hosts free community education events, such as garden tours and workshops as advertised and promoted on the Facebook page and Hello Garden newsletter.
Master Gardeners receive initial training by completing a 13-week course and passing an exam. Members are required to log 40 hours of annual community service and continued education to maintain Master Gardener status. According to Christian County Horticulture Agent Kelly Jackson, who oversees the association, there are currently around 70 Christian County Master Gardeners.
