HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County is hosting a fun workshop to Make-Your-Own Fascinator on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Hopkinsville Brewing Company. The workshop will take place before History on Tap: The History of the Kentucky Derby in 10 Objects presented by Jessica K. Whitehead.

Defined as formal headpieces often worn as an alternative to hats, fascinators provide women with a bold, decorative accessory for special occasions. In Kentucky, fascinators are often seen among the large hats at the Kentucky Derby and other horse races. In this workshop, folks can design and build their own masterpieces that can be worn at the Museum’s upcoming gala “Juleps, Jockeys, & Jazz” on Saturday, Sept. 20.

The workshop is FREE to attend. Supplies will be provided while they last. For more information, follow us on Facebook or give us a call at 270-887-4270. The Pennyroyal Area Museum is located at 217 East 9th Street and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
