HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County is pleased to announce the ribbon cutting of the Cornell Teen Center Renovation and Expansion which will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. at 1600 Walnut Street.

This event, which is open to the public, will provide an opportunity for community members to tour the existing center, as well as the new 2000 square foot FabLab addition. The FabLab allows teens to learn new skills that can be used in the 21st century workforce and gives teens access to 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, CNC Woodworking, Screen printing, audio/video production, Podcasting & Graphic Design.

The 4700 square foot Cornell Teen Center houses 3 main areas: an eSports Arena with a VR Lounge, a Coffee Shop, and the FabLab.

“We are very excited about the Teen Center expansion and renovation, said Terrence Davis, Executive Director of Boys & Girls Club Hopkinsville-Christian County. “This reimagined Teen Center will allow us to double the number of teens we serve daily while giving them hands-on experience with state-of-the-art technology.”

Opened in 2017, The Cornell Teen Center at the Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville is a place for local teens to hang out and participate in both scheduled and informal activities. The Teen Center is open to all teens enrolled in Grades 7-12. From sports, STEM, to the arts, volunteerism to academic pursuits, The Cornell Teen Center offers teens resources and programs to create meaningful experiences today to prepare for tomorrow.
