HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On Monday, Nov. 13, Hopkinsville police charged and arrested a convicted felon on several charges including possession of marijuana.

Hopkinsville police conducted a traffic stop, after passing a vehicle on the road with a strong odor of marijuana. Upon approaching the vehicle, the smell of marijuana emitted from the vehicle, according to police reports. Officers asked how much marijuana was inside the vehicle and the suspect handed over a baggie of marijuana.

While waiting for assisting patrol to search the vehicle, the subject’s right hand kept reaching for something within the car. The suspect then told police there was a gun in the car.

The suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, and using restricted ammo during felony. The suspect is now lodged at the Christian County Jail.
