HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Country music band Lonestar is coming to Hopkinsville this November for the Hoptown Holiday Hopfest. The multi-platinum award winning group will be front and center for what promises to be “a truly memorable evening of music and holiday magic.”
People who attend will be able to enjoy country music, while also supporting a great local cause. The money raised from this event directly benefits the Alhambra Theater. In the past nine years that this event has been going on, the Alhambra has raised almost $100,000 in donations.
“We have made so many improvements to our theatre with money raised from the Fundraiser,” says Executive Director Margaret Prim of the Pennyroyal Arts Council in a news release, “this year we need repairs to equipment from recent lighting strikes.”
The band Lonestar is best known for some of their most popular songs like “What About Now,” “My Front Porch Looking In,” and “Come
Cryin’ to Me.” One of Lonestar’s most iconic songs, “Amazed,” spent an incredible nine weeks at number one on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart during the summer of 1999.
Hoptown Holiday Hopfest will take place Nov. 25. Tickets are $50 plus processing and go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 12. Visit pennyroyalarts.org to purchase tickets.
