Updated Oct. 31: The City of Oak Grove has also moved public trick or treating to Friday, Nov. 1 due to potential weather, according to Mayor Jackie Oliver. However, the regularly scheduled Halloween event at the Oak Grove Community Center will still take place on Oct. 31. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

CROFTON, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Due to potential rain chances predicted for Halloween night, the City of Crofton and Lafayette have adjusted their public trick-or-treating schedules. Crofton will reschedule for Friday, Nov. 1 at  beginning at 5 p.m. while Lafayette has moved it to Wednesday, Oct. 30.

These announcements were shared through social media posts by the Crofton Fire Department and the City of Lafayette. The National Weather Service predicts a high likelihood of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. on Halloween with wind gusts as high as 24 mph and a 90% chance of rain.

The Crofton Fire Department in also inviting the community to come to the station Friday night to trick-or-treat and meet local firefighters and other members from neighboring stations at 103 East Mill Street.

Given the high chance of showers, other cities have shared their Halloween plans. Pembroke has confirmed that trick-or-treating will take place on Oct. 31, rain or shine.
