HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A drug trafficking arrest was made by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office after the pursuit of a Crofton man the night of Feb. 7.
The 44-year-old suspect was spotted driving a vehicle with a tag that had been flagged in previous investigations for suspected drug trafficking activity, according to CCSO. A traffic stop was attempted after the vehicle struck a center median while drifting out of its lane near the intersection of Madisonville Road and Pleasant View Road, but the suspect failed to yield to deputies.
The vehicle proceeded driving at 50 mph, and the man was seen throwing a white substance and plastic baggie from the vehicle. He eventually stopped on Madisonville Road and was taken into custody. After a search, deputies found that the baggie contained methamphetamine.
He is being charged with fleeing police, tampering with evidence, and trafficking in methamphetamine.
