CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A traffic stop on Monday afternoon resulted in a police pursuit and arrest by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 30 at approximately 4:06 p.m. CCSO says the suspect was seen on Clinic Drive operating a vehicle while having a suspended license. Deputies activated their lights to initiate a traffic stop, and the suspect proceeded to drive erratically through the roadway in his 1995 Camaro.

An arrest report from CCSO disclosed that the suspect almost hit three vehicles while evading deputies and was driving in the middle of Lafayette Road.

After the pursuit concluded near Alumni Drive, it was found that he had an active warrant and plastic baggies containing synthetic marijuana were located under the driver’s seat. The suspect was identified as 34-year-old John Bilyeu of Crofton.

He was transported to the Christian County Jail and charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Operating on Suspended or Revoked License, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Possession of Synthetic Drugs-1st Offense, Tampering with Physical Evidence, other traffic violations and was served an outstanding warrant for Probation Violation (Felony Offense).
