HOPKINSVILLE, KY – On Thursday, Executive Principal Ken Carver announced that Jacob Ezell has been named Athletic Director of the new consolidated Christian County High School. Ezell currently serves as the athletic director for Hopkinsville High School.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Ezell as the Athletic Director at the new Christian County High School,” said Executive Principal Ken Carver. “ With his passion for student‑athletes, strong leadership, and commitment to excellence both on and off the field, Coach Ezell is the ideal leader to guide our Tiger athletics into an exciting new era.”
Ezell is a graduate of Hopkinsville High School. He played football for the Tigers from 2011–2014. He began working as a full-time sub for HHS in 2017 and spent several years on the sidelines as an assistant coach with the HHS football program. Coach Ezell transitioned to classroom teacher after obtaining his teaching credentials in 2020. In the spring of 2024, Ezell was named athletic director for HHS.
“I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to my wife, Arlanda, and our two boys, Aiden and Jrue,” said Athletic Director Jacob Ezell. “Their love and sacrifices make it possible for me to do the work I’m so passionate about each day. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Ken Carver, Jonathan King, and Kerry Stovall for their trust and confidence in me to lead the new Christian County Tigers Athletics Department.”
Ezell concluded his statement, “Lastly, I want to thank the incredible coaches I’ve had the privilege to work with at Hopkinsville High School. It has been an honor to serve alongside you, and I look forward to collaborating with the outstanding coaching staff at Christian County as we begin this exciting new chapter together.”
Ezell and his wife Arlanda reside in Hopkinsville and have two sons; Aiden and Jrue.
