HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County Animal Shelter Director Melissa Goff has resigned from her position, and an acting director has been named to take over the responsibilities.
Goff resigned on Jan. 28 for undisclosed reasons, according to a news release from the Christian County Government. She held the position since 2023. Sherry Viall has been given the role of acting director, known in the community has the owner and operator of Bed and Biscuit, which is a small animal boarding and grooming facility.
“She has proven to have the ability to manage staff, budgets, scheduling, and daily operations while ensuring high standards of human animal care,” said the news release. “Sherry has a strong background in veterinary support, animal behavior training, and community involvement with established relationships with local veterinarians and demonstrated commitment to responsible shelter management and animal welfare.”
The search will be conducted to find a permanent director to fill the role.
