HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was attacked and bitten by two dogs on South Campbell Street on Dec. 10.

According to reports, the man was walking to work around 8 a.m. on the opposite side of the street when a dog ran across the road and attacked him. A second dog then burst through the front door of the residence to join in the attack.

The man was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center emergency room, where he was treated for three bite marks on his leg. Animal Control searched the dogs’ home, where they found the owner. The owner said that during the attack she was able to separate the dogs and get them contained.

An investigation found that the dogs were not up to date on their rabies vaccines and they will be doing an animal quarantine. The owner was charged with harboring a vicious animal, unvaccinated dogs, and dogs at large.

Two dogs attack mailman in January

The incident follows a similar attack in January involving two dogs on the same street. Animal Control was unable to confirm if it was the same dogs but told Christian County Now there are several aggressive dogs in that area.

At that time, two dogs attacked a mailman, chasing after him when they burst through a storm door. One of the dogs bit the mailman on the leg, and it was found the dogs were not current on their rabies vaccine. The owner was charged and the dogs were placed in quarantine.
