Dorotha Nell Lancaster Norfleet, 92, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 6:56 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be her nephews: Jim Lancaster, Jeff Lancaster, Joe Lancaster, Steve Shearon, Mike Norfleet and Bobby Hancock. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Christian County, KY she was born July 26, 1932 the daughter of the late James Oscar Lancaster and Nancy Meacham Lancaster. She was a retired Deputy Court Clerk with the Christian County Circuit Court Clerk’s office. She was a member of Casky Baptist Church. She was a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution; a Kentucky Colonel, the Christian County Democratic Women’s Club, and the Pennyrile Doll Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward “Ed” Norfleet; her brother: Gerald Lancaster; and her great grandson: Finn Gruver.

Survivors include her son: Larry Edward (Dawna) Norfleet of Clarksville, TN; her daughter: Nancy Norfleet of Hopkinsville, KY; her sister: Nila Jean (Bobby) Price of Hopkinsville, KY; her sister-in-law: Kay Lancaster of Hopkinsville, KY; her grandchildren: Sandra (Terrance Young) Lind, Carl Asher Lind, Keith (Emily) Gruver, and Melissa Gruver; and her great grandchildren: Emmitt Lind, Kiada Young, and Emery Gruver.
