HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Downtown Hopkinsville was buzzing with patrons during the first Art After Dark event. Several businesses featured artist vendors, activities, and live music Thursday night, with people walking through to dine, shop, and sip.

Patrons were able to stroll in a loop downtown, making several stops along the way. For live music, people could listen to a live DJ at The Crusty Pig, piano at The Book and Bottle Shop, or a guitarist at The Mixer. A free yoga class was offered at Hopkinsville Brewing Company, and Camo Caravan had face painting and bookmark making with the library. Vendors and artists were also scattered through businesses, with hair tinseling at Joyful Consignment, and a jewelry bar at Milkweed Health and Harmony Emporium.

July 24 marked the first night of the event, which is set for the fourth Thursday of every month from 4 p.m. through 9 p.m. Art After Dark utilizes new regulations with the establishment of the Downtown Entertainment District that permit patrons to walk around a designated area downtown while drinking alcoholic beverages that are supplied by participating businesses. This policy is permitted daily, even outside of events.

The dates for Art After Dark are July 24, Aug. 28, Sep. 25, and Oct. 23. Find more information and updates on the Downtown Entertainment District Facebook Page
