HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This year’s farmers market in downtown Hopkinsville is ending a few weeks early due to unforeseen circumstances with local vendors.

A statement issued by the market explained that vendors selling produce have been greatly impacted by the unpredictable nature of the weather this season, beginning with the floods this spring and ending with a major heatwave.

“Our vendors have nothing left for the market,” said the statement, adding that the growing season was cut short due to the severe weather.

The during this year’s season, the market was open every Thursday and every first Saturday of the month starting in April at Founders Square in downtown Hopkinsville. In past years, they remained open through October, so this will cut their season short by a full month.
