HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Downtown on Halloween is making it’s spooky return to Hopkinsville this Halloween. The festivities will kick off on Main Street between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. for family friendly trick or treating.

“We absolutely love hosting Downtown Trick-or-Treat every year on Halloween day,” said Rachel Sanders with Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation. “This event is a great opportunity for local businesses and organizations to connect with the Hopkinsville community as we line main street with tents and tables passing out candy.”

This year, they will also offer a new no-scare square with the Pennyroyal Center. This space will provide a calm, less stimulating environment for children and families that may feel overwhelmed by the Halloween festivities. The area will be designed to offer de-escalation, relaxation, and community resources to support mental and emotional well-being, according to Parks and Recreation.

Much like a trunk or treat, families will bring their bags and walk from booth to booth where candy and other goodies await. The roads downtown will be blocked off to keep costumed trick-or-treaters safe, with additional parking available around downtown.

Any businesses or organizations interested in handing out candy can contact the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department at 270-887-4290.
