HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A residential roadway off of South Main Street in Hopkinsville is about to debut a new traffic pattern, and Hopkinsville motorists are being warned of the change.
Hopkinsville Public Works has announced that West Edmunds Street will now be operating as a one-way street in an effort to improve traffic flow and enhance public safety. This change will go into effect on April 7.

The flow of traffic will go from the entrance on South Main Street and come out on West 19th Street heading toward Canton Street. The extremely narrow roadway travels through a residential area for approximately 0.3 miles.
This change was approved by the Hopkinsville City Council in early February via Ordinance 03-2026.
The department says drivers and residents are urged to use caution while driving in this area, and people should be mindful of new signage and traffic pattern. For questions regarding this change, residents can reach out the Hopkinsville Public Works at (270)- 890-0600.
