HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Two men were arrested in Hopkinsville on June 23 for drug trafficking after narcotics were found inside a vacant home that was recently involved in a fire.
An arrest report from the Hopkinsville Police Department says that around 11 p.m. on Monday, officers observed a man standing inside the garage of known vacant home. The North Kentucky Avenue residence was damaged in a fire three days before these arrests.
Officers approached and made contact with the 33-year-old suspect, along with another 40-year-old male suspect who was inside the garage. A search yielded a large amount of synthetic spice that was found in separate baggies, along with a digital scale. Another baggie of potential narcotics was found outside in the grass.
HPD says that both suspects denied ownership of the narcotics but were aware that the building was abandoned. They were both arrested and placed in the Christian County Jail with a charge for trafficking in synthetic drugs, criminal trespassing, and drug possession.
