OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On April 9, officers with the Oak Grove Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Fort Campbell Boulevard that led to the arrest of two men, and the recovery of illegal drugs and firearms linked to an alleged drug trafficking operation.

At approximately 5:01 p.m. on Wednesday, officers stopped a vehicle for traveling 65 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone. The vehicle, operated by 20-year-old man from Clarksville, Tennessee, initially drove a short distance before coming to a stop.

During the traffic stop, the officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to a news release from Oak Grove PD. Following a search, officers recovered marijuana, several dosage units of Oxycontin, fentanyl, weapons, and drug paraphernalia from the vehicle.

The driver was charged with possession of marijuana and speeding 20 miles over the limit and was released at the scene.

However, the 22-year-old passenger from Red Bluff, California was found to have a weapon on his person and was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance (Fentanyl), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An additional 18-year-old passenger from Clarksville was also arrested and charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
