HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man that is believed to have caused a multi-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon was arrested for driving under the influence.
The multi-vehicle accident occurred on May 6 around 2:30 p.m. on I-169 (Pennyrile Parkway). According to a collision report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the man’s vehicle side-swiped another car, causing it to spin out. His vehicle continued forward, rear-ending another car before hitting a guard rail and hitting the vehicle again.
The impact of the crash caused one of the cars to lose a tire, which traveled across the median of the roadway and hit a fourth vehicle, causing damage. The driver, identified as 64-year-old William Steinhoff of Frankfort, Ohio, received medical treatment for a head injury and was ultimately arrested.
He was transported to the Christian County Jail and is being charged with Reckless Driving, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st and Failure to Produce Insurance Card.
