HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – High temperatures, humidity, and multiple rounds of storms are expected to hit Christian County on July 3.

The National Weather Service warns that damaging winds will be the primary concern with the incoming storms, with flash flooding possible Wednesday evening. Ahead of the storms, temperatures will rise to 94 degrees with a predicted heat index of 106 degrees in Hopkinsville.

“Dangerous heat and humidity return to the region Wednesday afternoon,” said NWS. “Heat index values can reach 105 to 110 degrees depending on timing of thunderstorm development. Stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks in the shade if you’ll be outdoors!”

NWS is encouraging people to stay indoors if possible and take frequent breaks if they are outside.
