HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Dozens of families from around Hopkinsville set up at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center to fish together for the 23rd Annual Take Kids Fishing Day.

Kids lucky enough to catch a fish proudly got them measured and logged. While battling the heat and cicadas, kids cast their rods and crossed their fingers hoping to reel in some of the catfish and bluegills stocked in the water. This annual event aims to bring the community together, and provides participating kids with shirts, lunch, and fun water activities.
