HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A family of four has been displaced after their home caught fire Thursday night on Bahama Drive in Hopkinsville.
According to reports from the Hopkinsville Fire Department, units were dispatched to the 3700 block of Bahama Drive around 8:20 p.m. A caller notified authorities that smoke was coming from an area of the single-family home. The first truck arrived within minutes, and was able to quickly extinguish and contain the fire to the kitchen and laundry area.
All four occupants of the home and a dog were able to safely evacuate without injury. However, the home sustained significant smoke damage, and the Red Cross has been requested to assist the family. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to HFD.
