OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Michaela and MaKenzie Griffis have over three million lights set up this Christmas season, with their impressive two-acre display visible from the interstate in Oak Grove. As the holiday season wraps up, they are inviting the community to come in and view their free walk-through display in the last days before Christmas.

Between 2010 and 2020 the Griffis Family would open up their Clarksville home every Christmas season with thousands of lights on display. This family tradition was put on pause when the pandemic hit, coupled with personal health issues. This year, they decided to bring it back, but this time at their Grateful Acres Farm.

Leading up the season, they worked almost all day for two weeks to set up over three million lights in the walk-through display. Grateful Acres Farm is run by sisters Michaela and MaKenzie along with support from their family. The hobby and rescue farm is home to sheep, goats, cows, mini cows, donkeys, geese, ducks and more.

“This event is about Christmas traditions, family, and community,” Michaela Griffis said to Christian County Now. “Christmas has always been about more than lights. It is about family, faith, and creating a place where people and animals feel welcome. It’s a place where they can come, slow down and create long lasting family memories that doesn’t cost them anything.”

The farm is located at 1857 Millers Mill Road, with Santa visiting on Dec. 22 from 6-9 p.m. and Dec. 23 from 6-8 p.m. For free, people can walk through their displays while enjoying hot chocolate, treats, the Legend of the Candy Cane story, and even meet some lifelike reindeer.

People are also welcome to drive by any time between 5-11 p.m. to see the lights from the road, or wave when passing the farm on I-24 near mile marker 83.
