CROFTON, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A family-owned produce and deli market in Crofton has announced they are closing their doors heading into the new year.

On Jan. 1, Rite Choice Market LLC shared in a Facebook post that their doors will permanently close on Jan. 16. The grocery store and deli has been locally owned and operated by Ray Schlabach and his family since 2017 with the mission of providing fresh, affordable food while fostering a sense of community.

“This store has been more than just a business to us, it’s been a place where we’ve built friendships, shared stories, and helped feed families through good times and tough ones,” said a statement from Rite Choice Market. “From stocking your favorites on the shelves to chatting at the checkout, you’ve made every day special. We’ve loved being part of this tight-knit community and watching Crofton grow (and shrink) alongside us.”

Leading up to their final day before closing, they will have a clearance sale with deep discounts on all items in the store located at 260 South Madisonville Street in Crofton.
