Modern basketball court, gym for Christian County Tigers next fall

One of the major components of the new Christian County High School is creating a large, modern gym space for students. School officials play on displaying previous championships and athletics achievements, so those efforts are not forgotten.

After construction is complete, the gym at the new Christian County High School campus that will host future basketball games is expected is expected to mimic college courts. The school board recently approved a video scoreboard for the new gym with screens on all four sides. It will also prominently feature the new Tigers branding and a shot clock.

This same gym will be able to fit over 3,000 people for large crowds, with two levels of seating to be available. The school also has an auxiliary gym that can double as a practice space. Assistant Superintendent Wilson previously told Christian County Now that they are creating an impressive, modern gym that will give CCHS the ability to host more competitions and tournaments.

Things to know before the HHS vs. CCHS game

School officials are reminding attendees of the gym’s bag policy, which prohibits bags and purses. Exceptions may be made for medical or diaper bags. Student entry guidelines will be strictly enforced. Christian County High School and Hopkinsville High School students must enter through separate designated entrances at opposite ends of the gym.

Elementary and middle school aged students are required to be accompanied by an adult at all athletic events. Students arriving without an adult will not be permitted to enter, and a parent will be contacted. All guests will enter through a weapons detection system with weapons, alcohol, tobacco, and vape products prohibited.

Tickets are limited and priced at $10. General admission tickets will be sold at the front entrance of the gym. Advance tickets are available through GoFan, and fans are encouraged to purchase early due to expected high attendance.
