HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Flood Watch has been issued for central Christian County until 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 28.

At 1: 31 p.m., local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between three and four and a half inches of rain have fallen on the northside of Hopkinsville, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Additional rainfall amounts up to one inch are possible in the warned area.

Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, Pembroke and Herndon.
