HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Mark Alton Wells died on Dec. 31, 2025, at the age of 72 years old.
According to his obituary, Mark moved to Hopkinsville and became a successful businessman, creating Super Lawn & Garden and later, Mr. Mulch. He was also the owner and operator of American Concrete from 1993 to 1997. In 2010, Mark retired from the business world.
In 2014, he was elected as Magistrate of District 2 on the Christian County Fiscal Court. He enjoyed working with his fellow magistrates, and the county’s assistance in refurbishing the Alhambra Theater was one of his favorite accomplishments.
Additionally, Mark served on the Trail of Tears Commission for many years. Other volunteer efforts include cooking for The Salvation Army Soup Kitchen each Wednesday, May through October.
Mark is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jane. He is survived by and was loved by his inherited daughters, Ellen Casey (Todd) and Sarah Hayes (Tom), and six grandchildren and a new great granddaughter. Memorial gifts may be made to First Christian Church (Nada Fuqua Music Fund) or The Salvation Army.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 at First Christian Church with Pastor Glen Schory, Rev. Dr. Thomas Steiner, Rev. Catherine DeMoss, and Rev. Ward Carver officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the service hour at First Christian Church. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
