FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Jeffrey Rodgers died on June 6, 2025 at the age of 57 in Louisville, Kentucky. Students, staff, and teachers at Fort Campbell High School were familiar with his impact, as he spent 34 years on base as a teacher and coach.

According to his obituary, Rodgers taught health and PE at all grade levels, led the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, coached multiple sports, started the FCHS archery program, and served as a mentor and friend to all those he encountered. His phrase of “It’s a great day to have a great day” was one of his many influences that helped change mindsets and will continue to live on in the years to come.

On his memorial website, dozens of people have shared impactful memories and photos of their time with Coach Rodgers at FCHS and beyond. He is described as always having a smile on his face and was kind to anyone and everyone, often lending a helping hand to neighbors and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 12 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville, Kentucky. Visitation will start at 11 a.m.
