FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Fort Campbell Falcons hosted the Caldwell County Tigers in a non-district girls basketball matchup at Fort Campbell High School on Wednesday. The Tigers led wire to wire, and won 60-19.

Early on, Caldwell County was able to cause several turnovers and get out in transition for fast break scoring, causing the lead to grow quickly. By the end of the first half, the Tigers led 45-7.

The Falcons did not go without positives, as they were able to see some of their younger players in the rotation; they fought for every bucket, and hustled until the final buzzer.

Fort Campbell head coach Tynisa Young said she would’ve loved to see her squad start playing the way they finished the game for all four quarters.

“Our younger players – some aren’t even in high school and playing up – they played with grit,” said Young. “I wish that we would have come out of the gates the way we finished it, because I truly believe that fourth quarter was ours. We just have to get back in the gym and keep playing fundamental basketball.”
