HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – 100 free yard signs displaying the message, “Drive like your kids live here” will be distributed by the City of Hopkinsville in an effort to remind drivers to slow down and prioritize the safety of children and families.
Households in the city are eligible to receive one free sign, which can be picked up at Hopkinsville Public Works at 705 North Main Street. People with signs are encouraged to place them visibly in their yards as a reminder to motorists passing by.
“One of the pillars of our Growing Home plan is public safety,” said Mayor J.R. Knight in a news release. “These signs are a simple but powerful reminder that every child deserves to feel safe in their own neighborhood. By working together, we can create a community where families feel secure and our streets are safer for everyone.”
