HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Shoppers at the Hopkinsville Farmers Market will have something different to look forward to with kid’s activities planned and a customer appreciation night.
On July. 25, there will be a cow milking station and produce activity for their Kids Night Out. The Christian County Extension Office will facilitate the activities, and kids are encouraged to attend and learn about the market. August will kick off with Customer Appreciation Night where a free caricature artist will attend along with Chef Jamie’s food truck. They are hoping this fun night will attract new customers and show appreciation to their regulars.
Emalee Hudson with the Hopkinsville Farmers Market told Christian County Now that this season started off slow when they lost their biggest produce vendor. But they are thankful to those who stood by and continued to support the existing vendors.
“They were supporting our other vendors through that rough time, which sustained the market until we could get another large produce vendor,” said Hudson. “We just want to say thank you to all the people who come to the market and are supporting our local economy!”
Later in the month on Aug. 15, the library is taking over the market. Kids can get ready for the new school year by decorating a custom pencil pouch or walking over the library to check out some books after checking out the market.
The market is open Thursday nights from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in downtown Hopkinsville.
