HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – It’s time for fall break for Christian County Public School students, with a variety of free, special events from the local library available, along with the opportunity to explore some local places throughout the week.
Local places to explore
- Five Nights at Freddy’s will play at The Alhambra Theater for free at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7. Concessions and popcorn will be available for purchase.
- For families who are looking to explore the outdoors here is a list of 5 scenic places to watch leaves change this fall in Christian County.
- The Pennyroyal Area Museum will open all week long with regular hours, featuring kid friendly exhibits and activities near downtown Hopkinsville restaurants.
- For older kids looking to be scared this spooky season, we’ve got a list of haunted houses and spooky places to visit near Hopkinsville.
- Locally owned movie theater The Showbox will be open for regular hours this week for families looking to catch a movie.

Free events with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library
All week long, the library has free “Spooktacular” events lined up.
Monday, Oct. 6
Scooby-Doo Night: Between 5-6 p.m. at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library. School age kids can build their own Scooby Snack Mix at the treat station, and complete games in their Mystery Mayhem during this free event.
Tuesday, Oct. 7
Five Nights at Freddy’s Epic Hour: From 5-6 p.m. at The Alhambra Theater in downtown Hopkinsville, the library will be hosting their Epic Hour program with a pizza party, themed crafts, and games leading up to the showing of the movie at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 8
The Addams Family: The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is dedicating the evening to this spooky family, with Addams Family bingo, puppets, crafts and games from 5-6 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 9
Coraline Night: From 5-6 p.m., another free night of programming is available for kids at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library. Fans of Coraline can come for a DIY viewfinder stone, button tree art, and more fun.
